{100 of the best books, movies, TV shows and games in no particular order}
So, in honor to yesterday's regeneration, I need to take a moment to talk about one of the best TV shows ever, Doctor Who (for those of you only vaguely familiar with the concept please note it is DOCTOR Who and not Dr. Who. This is a very important point).
Meet, The Doctor.
The Doctor is a 900 year old alien who travels around the universe in his sentient spaceship-cum-police public call box, the TARDIS (it's bigger on the inside). In his travels he comes up against temporal paradoxes, automated mannequins out to kill, megalomaniacal aliens bent on universal destruction and an occasional irate mother or two.
Oh, and did I mention his box travels in time?
Despite the danger, the Doctor is ultimately out for peace, never actively looking for trouble (no problem though, it usually finds him just fine). He goes into battle armed only with his superior intelligence and his sonic screwdriver.
Along the way, the Doctor picks up various humans, aliens, and mechanical dogs to travel with him as companions. They keep him company, keep him sane and keep things moving in the show.
Did I also mention the Doctor regenerates? Yeah. He does that. As a Timelord he has 13 regenerations throughout his lifetime.
(sort of a handy little trick to keep your main character around for a long period of time)
Above all this show is just so many things. It has its emotional, heart wrenching moments that no doubt will leave you in tears (I will refrain from clips of that so we can leave the tissue box where it is) but really at the end of the day, Doctor Who is about fun. It is about traveling through time and space and seeing so much and learning and growing and having FUN. And that is what I love about it.
(For the Whovians that did stumble upon this post, yes I used a lot of 9 because he is my Doctor and there always needs to be more 9 love in the world)
