100 of MY FAVORITE BOOKS, MOVIES, TV SHOWS AND GAMES: #1 Dr. Horribles Sing-A-Long Blog

{100 of the best books, movies, TV shows and games}

We're going to start this blogging thing off on an interesting note. First real post (we're not counting that introduction, that doesn't say much right? Not much outside of "Hi, so this is me" anyways) says a lot about a person and indeed the first position of a 100 list is the top spot of what they find important. Lot of credibility is riding on this post and that is just too much pressure honestly. So we'll go with this.

I realize this has been around for some time now but this show is one of my favourites in such a quirky sort of way. To me this is one of those things that just comes along, out of no where and just BAM! instant classic. It makes no logical sense and, in fact, seems quite silly but some how it just works. And that is what this is, because if you told me to watch this show about a villains blog and his attempt to take over the world and oh by the way its a musical, I'd think you were nuts. And that reality TV may have gone too far. But this works.

Yes, that was Neil Patrick Harris you saw. Yes that was my geek goddess Felicia Day and yes, that was Captain Tightpants on the car as well. It's an amazing cast of actors that nerd demigod Joss Whedon assembles for a webisode based musical extravaganza. It has everything! Action! Danger! Romance! Evil laughs! Soft and supple hair that blows in the breeze! What more could you ask for in a short internet series?

On top of all that, the songs themselves are phenomenal. Out of the ordinary perhaps for your regular musical fare with titles such as My Freeze Ray but then, what sounds more awesome than a song about a freeze ray? How about an evil horse?

And what's more, unlike some of my favorite things which may require you to go and purchase or rent a copy of them to enjoy, because Joss Whedon released Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog straight to the internet, you don't even need to get up to enjoy! The entire thing is available for streaming on Netflix or for purchase on iTunes. So, if you haven't had the pleasure of viewing this little masterpiece go and watch it and if you already have. Well. You should really just go and watch it again anyways and include your friends and family this time. What says holiday spirit more than an evil doctor and his sing-a-long blog?
